Greenville Drive Baseball

West End/Fluor Field
945 South Main Street
Greenville, SC 29601
Home Games: Early April thru Sept. 1st

There’s no better way to spend an evening than cheering on the Greenville Drive baseball team. Greenville’s own “Boys of Summer” take to the field from April ’til September as they battle other members of the South Atlantic League.

It’s minor-league baseball and major-league fun.

A Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Class A Drive delivers solid baseball, as well as a healthy dose of entertainment. There isn’t a “bad S0246120seat” in the house at Drive’s 5,700-capacity home stadium Fluor Field. Patterned after Fenway Park, Fluor Field shares its dimensions with Fenway and even boasts its own version of the “Green Monster” wall in left field. Fluor Field was voted “Ballpark of the Year” by in 2006.

Although it shares its design with Fenway, Fluor Field is a serious nod to Greenville’s past: It was constructed with bricks reclaimed from local textile mills. It is also adjacent to The Shoeless Joe Museum and Baseball Library that was once home to Greenville favorite son Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Among Fluor Field’s highlights are the outdoor 500 Home Run Club for adults, featuring a variety of draft beers, wine and table seating. Kids are welcome here and access is included in the price of a regular ticket. There is also a play area for the kids just inside the park entrance.

S0386136_Consisting of fold-down seats, the bulk of the seating is located behind netting that stretches from behind home plate out toward right and left fields. There is bleacher seating down the first-base line. There is also a grassy knoll down the third-base line where fans spread blankets to watch the game.

With food vendors including Chic-fil-A, Que BBQ, Tony C’s Pizza and Subway, fans can come to the games hungry. Both food and drink are very reasonable with $4.50 chicken sandwiches, $8.50 BBQ plate and $2.50 hotdogs. There are also several restaurants and tap rooms near the park, such as Liberty Tap Room, Breakwater, Compadres Mex-Mex Grill and Mac’s Speed Shop.

For 70 home games, season tickets cost $575 per seat. Other plans are available as well. Choose pretty much any seat in the house for a specific game and you will pay less than $10 for an individual ticket. What that means is you can take your family to a Drive game for less than a night at the movies.
