Don't Miss

Haunted Pub Crawl

When: Every Wednesday Night Thru October
Cost: $20 per person

“I don’t believe in no ghosts!” you might say; but for six weeks in the fall you have the opportunity to tour some of Greenville’s more popular downtown bars where local paranormal investigator and author Jason Profit will regale you with tales of “spirits”hauntings and sightings.

Jason Profit.

Jason Profit.

Having authored the book Haunted Greenville, Profit is not only well versed in the paranormal, but an accomplished Greenville historian. For roughly 90 minutes to two hours, he informs and entertains as he leads small groups from one spirit-infested bar to the next. Of course, during many of the stops, guests have the opportunity to quaff a spirit or two.

In 2013, it could have been just as easily called “The Dueling Pizza Joint Pub Crawl” because, at least on the night I attended, it began at Bellacino’s Pizza and wound up at Bertolo’s Pizza on opposite ends of Main Street. The Connolly’s stop was particularly entertaining.

You don’t need to believe in ghosts to enjoy the evening. Profit makes no guarantee that there will be an actual spirit sighting – there wasn’t on my tour – but the bartenders or owners of some of the destinations are eager to offer stories of personal encounters with some otherworldly entities.

Profit also hosts Greenville Ghost Tours year around.
