When: Friday, Oct. 22
Hours: 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Each year near Halloween the Greenville Zoo hosts its Greenville Health System Boo in the Zoo. It’s an opportunity for age-12-and-under kids to have safe trick-or-treating fun, as well as a chance to view the zoo’s wonderful wild-animal exhibits. All participating children must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone is encouraged to wear costumes.

Halloween-themed decorations dress up every corner of the zoo’s 10 acres. Scattered among the 30 or more animal exhibits areDSCF3582 manned trick-or-treating stations. There is an “unhaunted house” and assorted fun-filled booths. There are plenty of places for photos of your favorite little goblin.

Walking the zoo, viewing its more than 300 live animals, birds and reptiles, takes roughly 90 minutes. Stroller and wheelchair friendly, the zoo is an experience for the entire family.

The on-sale-date for Boo in the Zoo 2016 tickets is yet to be set.
