Its name may sound a bit pretentious, but Nose Dive Gastropub is anything but. Yet, if you are expecting standard bar grub, you will be pleasantly surprised. Part of the Table 301 multi-restaurant family, including Soby’s and The Lazy Goat among others, DSC03278Nose Dive claims an impressive pedigree.

Located Next to the Westin Poinsett, Nose Dive can be accessed from Main street or through the hotel. It offers cafe-style seating outside, as well as dining rooms on the ground floor and upstairs. There are full bars on each floor as well. Upstairs or down, the atmosphere is casual and laid back.

Although there are plenty of places in Greenville with a larger variety of draft beers, with 20 taps, Nose Dive has a robust selection of craft beers – many are local. There is also a hefty bottle selection. You can check out the current offerings on a large chalkboard in the lower bar. Prices range from $3.50 for bottles of popular domestics to $9 for some harder-to-get craft brews. If wine is more to your liking, there are Reds and Whites by the glass or bottle. Nine Whites and nearly twice that many Reds range in price from $29 to $80. Most though average from $35 to $50. By-the-glass prices start at $7.50.

S0196292Whether you find yourself there for lunch or dinner, the selection is rich in choices and reasonably priced. Nose Dive bills its fare as “urban comfort food.” You will find a satisfying array of sandwiches and entrees on the lunch menu. Ranging in price from $10 for the Chick Fil-ay to $14 for the Shrimp Po’Burger, the choices are tempting. There are also Small Plates items, such as Tater Tots $6 and Dive Tacos $8. The assorted salads are $8 and $9.

Dinner entrees range in price from Vegetable Lo Mein $14, to Seared Salmon $24. Check out the Fried Chicken & Waffles $19. There are also burgers and assorted sandwiches priced from $9 to $14.

Highlighting the desert menu any time of the day are treats like the Dark Chocolate Candied Bacon Brownie $7 and the Krispy Kreme Brulee $7.

Can’t decide between breakfast and lunch? Brunch is available every Saturday (10-4) and Sunday (10-3). Ordering from the menu, you can enjoy goodies such as French Toast $8, and Biscuits and Gravy $10. There are salads and sandwiches on hand as well.

Casual dining, friendly service and some great beers: It’s all you really need in a gastropub.DSC03321
